PIRCV Rear Suspension on the Barracuda buggy
Please Note
With the release of the Barracuda Mk II, the PIRCV rear suspension has been superseded by the CV2 rear suspension. The CV2 boasts an even stronger driveline, tougher lower arms and more brake options. Many CV2 parts can be used on older PIRCV builds, and PIRCV-specific parts are still available. If you have any questions regarding compatibility and original parts please contact us.
------------------------
The PIRCV rear suspension from The Edge Products has been the beating heart of the Barracuda's driveline. This suspension design evolved over 5 years to become the super reliable rear end which is what made the Barracuda so tough.
If you're into big bike power like the awesome Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 or the evil Kawasaki ZX14R you need a tough & dependable driveline.
Super tough components such as Porsche 930 CV’s, combined with massive ball race bearings makes this driveline bullet proof.
The design features a unique chain adjustment system which moves the sprocket forward & rearward by the use of a turnbuckle, simply loosen the locking screws & rotate the turnbuckle to adjust the chain.
Fitted with a huge 60 tooth 530 pitch sprocket as standard so you can now achieve the super low gearing that offroad buggies need to haul you up the steepest sand dunes.
Easy servicing of the centre drive system can be carried out by removing the alloy bash plate, undo the CV joints & drop the whole centre cartridge out of the bottom of the housing.
Wheel hubs are tough 6 stud 4x4 pattern, so instead of ATV rims & tyres you can also install 15” 4x4 rims as an option.
A unique centre hub & wheel hub system means there are no expensive spline shafts to manufacture; this system uses large diameter alloy hubs that can be easily machined on a lathe.
A Super strong & reliable driveline is the key to enjoying the massive power to weight ratio of a modern bike powered buggy, but best of all you can now make it yourself.
